Looking after the wellbeing of our stay-at-home community

Only 30% of UK employees had ever experienced working from home before the start of the year, let alone attempted it every day, so it is no surprise that we are still finding the best way to structure our days while protecting our mental and physical health.

With a working population usually close to 60,000, Team London Bridge are taking steps to ensure those working from home are looking after their wellbeing. Our programme of ‘Love Lunch’ wellness and culture events has been extended and moved online to provide access to engaging, stimulating activity to set a daily routine around.

Taking inspiration from the area’s medical heritage, wellness benefits are at the forefront of our thinking in building these free and accessible sessions. Many offer an outlet for stress, a chance to stay connected to the community, keep a routine and stay active while combatting loneliness and providing opportunities to learn new skills and knowledge.

We all need to try and keep a routine while spending time at home, and taking part in a Love Lunch session around the middle of the day builds structure into our day, providing a mental ‘3rd space’ away from home and work life. We are lucky in that we have so many top-quality culture partners and businesses that are asking to take part and reinvent our programming online. Team London Bridge is happy to be able to offer these sessions free of charge and help look after the wellbeing of our community at home.’

In an area renowned for its culture it comes as no surprise to find many arts themed events to take part in.

Over the next few weeks you can sign up for Curiosities about Tower Bridge, Life and Legacy of Florence Nightingale, Mindful Yoga Flow or Creative Collage Making. Long-term collaborators Musicity are organising interactive sessions with some of their musicians, including Suitman Jungle and Clémentine March (next workshop 29 Apr 1pm). London Bridge favourites Dance Umbrella, The Poetry Takeaway, Illuminated River and sustainability campaigners Hubbub will also make an appearance in the programme.
