With the news
regular cycling to work cuts the risk of death by over 40%, and the incidence
of cancer and heart disease by half, the question might be why more people
don’t cycle. If safety is the reason (it often is, particularly in London),
then the evidence suggests otherwise.
to Work day (Cycle2Work – C2W) day on April 26th 2017.
We at Team London Bridge are going to support as many
people as possible to get into cycling over the coming years and have started
to invest time and money in measures to support this.
A simple first step (or pedal) is to wholeheartedly support
Cyclists’ Cycle to Work day on April 26th 2017. Everyone is invited
to take part, but we are particularly keen to support new cyclists – and we
encourage more experienced cyclists to buddy up with a colleague and find safe

along the new embankment cycle path.
Quietway under construction
You may have noticed that the new Quietway is being
constructed along Snowsfields – and yes, you may too have noticed periods of
traffic chaos! Quietway 14 will create a safe, low (or no) traffic route
between Tower Bridge Road and Blackfriars. The work is happening in stages –
with the section outside Guys Cancer centre the first planned for completion –
along with new paving and street trees. The rest of the route will be completed
over the summer, and Southwark will be providing details of the works, which we
will notify businesses of as they happen.
