ABOUT

8 million disposable coffee cups are thrown away every day in the UK, with only 4% of these recycled.

Alongside our neighbouring BID, Better Bankside, we’ve teamed up with recycling experts Paper Round to launch an area-wide cup recycling scheme with improved public bin infrastructure and financial incentives for businesses wanting to do their bit.

This scheme is made possible by ‘The Cup Fund’,
a national initiative run by environmental charity Hubbub with support from Starbucks.

WHAT WILL IT COST?

A brochure of the various in-office / in-café bins is available here and all have been discounted by 50% as part of the project. For Team London Bridge members a roll of 200 sacks is just £75 and this includes the cost of collection. For all enquiries please contact Will Pinder at Paper Round william.pinder@paper-round.co.uk

WHERE DO THE CUPS GO?

They will be collected by recycling partner Paper Round and sent to specialist firm James Cropper and turned into new paper products via their unique CupCycling™ process.

How to get involved

  • Order a bespoke recycling bin for your workplace to enable staff and customers to dispose of their cups responsibly.

  • Have a free seminar delivered by Paper Round on how you can improve recycling across all waste streams and become a more sustainable business.

  • Encourage staff and customers to use the new network of public bins with the help of our promotional materials.
