At Team London Bridge we have been promoting the Responsible Business and sustainability agenda for many years across the business district, drawing inspiration from our dynamic business community
These are our objectives and policies that we have as a small not-for-profit organisation.
Net Zero
We monitor our own organisational carbon footprint using xtonnes (a tool that we make available for free to our business community). In 2022, our approximate footprint was 10.48 tCO2e.
TLB has signed the London Bridge Decarbonisation Charter, and have currently achieved Pathfinder status. More details on the Decarbonisation Charter here.
We will be setting out our own organisational routemap to net zero in due course (2024).
Some of our actions include:
Recorra manage our waste, with 75% of recycling achieved in 2023-24, with zero waste to landfill and 980kg CO2 saved.
Office relocation was done by e-cargo bike and fit out was done byre-using or sourcing recycled furniture
Office is powered using 100% renewable electricity, which demonstrates additionality. No gas in the office. We have double glazed windows (in the office). Heating is kept to a minimum and monitored.
Office lights are LED.
Anything that can be transported by cargo bike is transported by cargo bike, including office services like window cleaning, transporting gifts to charities. Our gardeners use the cargo bike for carrying items and watering gardens.
+40% of office-based staff cycle or cycle regularly to work
There are no disposable dishes, cups or glasses used for our community hire space, London Bridge Hive. Items are washed when the dishwasher is full.
Living Wage employer
Team London Bridge is a Living Wage accredited employer. We are commited to fair wages for our workforce and suppliers. A real living wage comes with a lot of direct benefits to businesses, and in particular with enhanced mental health and wellbeing for employees.
What’s more, Southwark Council has been re-accredited as a Living Wage Place, and we are proud to be part of the business action group that drives the efforts towards even more businesses being accredited in the next 3 years. They have just announced a new grant to cover the accreditation fees for up to 3 years for newly accredited Living Wage Employers based in Southwark. The scheme is open to employers with 250 employees or less. Find out more and apply online.
