We’ve seen this transition first hand in London Bridge through our Bikes for Business project, with over 200 businesses embracing pedal powered deliveries since the project began in 2019. Beyond SE1, cargo bike use has soared by 63% across the capital between 2022 and 2023, with research showing cargo bikes could replace 17% of vans in parts of London by 2030, cutting 62 million miles of vehicle journeys and 30,000 tonnes of CO2 annually.

Yesterday’s Cargo Bike Cruise organised alongside MP Smarter Travel celebrated this transformation, with a record-breaking 80 cargo bikes riding through central London. The event also supported the Clean Cargo campaign, which calls for greater investment in sustainable transport solutions.
