Age UK Lewisham and Southwark is an independent, self-funding local charity which has developed from agencies providing services since 1984.

We improve life for older people aged 55+ by addressing poverty, social exclusion, and physical and mental suffering. We provide door to door transportation and hot cooked meal daily as well as therapeutic activities to support our members overall well being.

Our other services include:

Information and advice – free service to maximise wellbeing and independence.
Safe and Independent Living, and Care Navigation – access to diverse community and statutory services.
Happy Feet – not –for- profit services – nail cutting.
Yalding Healthy Living Centre – healthy activities.

How you can help

Regular Volunteers

We would love to welcome you to our team in a role that you will both enjoy and find hugely rewarding, and which will greatly benefit the older people we work with.

One important benefit of volunteering with us is that we provide comprehensive training and give you the opportunity to develop your skills on both a personal and professional level.

Almost anyone can be a volunteer. We have a wide range of roles which suit different people and different skills. We encourage and particularly welcome applicants over the age of 50.

Fundraising

There are many great ways to raise money for Age UK Lewisham & Southwark such as bake sales or sponsored challenges.

We are always on hand to help by providing advice and ideas on how to make your fundraiser the best that it can be. We can provide you with posters, flyers, collection goblets, fundraising tips and sponsorship forms.
