Leaves Breathe believes valuable and beautiful community green space is something everyone should have access to... and a short walk from their front door too!
We blitz and beautify playgrounds, council estates, community gardens, shared gardens in sheltered housing, etc. We do this where we assess the need to be greatest.
We realise this vision by running gardening volunteer days for residents, corporate teams, and training community garden leaders.
We spend all our profits on sending back gardeners to the sites we work on and putting on community engagement events for the people we serve.
We are dedicated to supporting London's green lungs - the leaves that breathe for us.

How you can help
We run Corporate Gardening Days for businesses who want a fun, team-building day out and achieve a lot of good also!
Above all, we're looking for help with Alfred Salter Playground, a much used but neglected green space.
A team from NationalGrid got the job started in Winter 2023.
Please get in touch to book a day and come to help us!
Alfred Salter Playground is 4 minute walk from Tower Bridge and 10 minute walk from More London and London Bridge Station
It needs a dedicated injection of people power, enthusiasm, and plants to be its best. It is visited by hundreds of families every week.
It is a place of joy, but we want to create corners of calm and beauty also for the busy parents who go here. "From brambles to beauty!"
"What a fantastic volunteering day! With the weather on our side, and guidance from our expert host Matt, our National Grid leadership team got stuck in and we were able to make a real difference to a local community playground. Thank you." Paige, Team Coordinator, National Grid.
What does a Volunteer Gardening Day package include:
In short we manage the entire day from registration, the gardening itself, to the wrap up:
· Organising - We take the headache out of registering your colleagues with our sign up forms.
· Timings - Days last from 9.30 am to 4 pm (max), incl. 1-hour lunch break.
· H&S - we give a H&S briefing, provide all gardening tools and gloves on the day. Our team of Gardening Team Leaders are also First Aid trained.
· A fun, educational, and productive gardening day. We love how much we always get done - and we make sure we have a good time doing it.
· Expect "hands-on"! Practical activities we might be doing together including pruning, digging, planting flowers, shrubs and trees, creating bug hotels and wildlife habitats, improving soils, turning compost, litter picking and sowing seeds.
· Photos- we will provide you with team and individual shots to remember our day together.
· 'Golden Gloves' Awards ceremony - this gives us a chance to say thank you.
· Marketing & CSR wrap up - we provide photos, infographics, and concise reports for your CSR / ESG reporting, annual wrap up, and social media. We occasionally get a 'Feel Good' press story in - and we'd love to involve you in these also.
We charge a fee to cover all the above of £990 per 12 people.
All profit goes to community engagement events and maintaining the space looking its best.
