An Indian Summer of Arts in London Bridge

The Man with a Movie Camera

The Man with a Movie Camera

Our summer arts programme is ending with a flourish of dance, film, music, poetry and general festivity for Team London Bridge - Ellie Beedham, Director of Arts.

After the busy and fun-filled Hip Hop Weekender over the Bank Holiday the Team London Bridge arts programme continued a pace at The Scoop as part of Summer by the River festival with the brilliant film screening and live score of ‘Man with a Movie Camera’ performed by the music ensemble - Cabinet of Living Cinema. The musicians were back by popular demand after their debut river front performance of ‘100 years of animation’ earlier in the season.

At the Bermondsey Street Festival Team London Bridge were very pleased to present the Poetry Takeaway with 5 poets beavering away all day writing bespoke odes for local people. We also had a couple of stalls promoting sustainability and or work around medi-culture, and were joined for a fun day by our partners from the Old Operating Museum, Southwark Culture Health and Wellbeing Partnership and Florence Nightingale museum with handling collections, costumed characters and lots of lively conversations.

But don’t fret. As the nights draw in and dogs on Bermondsey Street put on their designer winter coats, you can continue to visit Henry Reichhold’s Near and Far installation at London Bridge Station and listen to MSCTY x Thames, the sound journey that builds connections between the Royal Docks and London Bridge.
