All relationships are different. There is no such thing as a "normal" relationship, but there are healthy ones and unhealthy ones.
How can you identify the early warning signs that a relationship has the potential to become abusive ? Who can you turn to for help or advice ?
The panel discussion will provide insight into domestic abuse, provide key advice for individuals and how employers can best support their employees. Lyndsey Dearlove, Head of UK SAYS NO MORE, a national campaign for domestic abuse and sexual violence. Lorna Gavin is Head of Diversity, Inclusion & Corporate Responsibility at Gowling WLG and will share both the work being done as an employer to support colleagues and her own experiences of enduring domestic abuse.
16 Days of Action Against Domestic Violence, 25 November-10 December 2019, is designed to help businesses take action against domestic abuse and violence. Companies can do a lot to support employees who endure domestic violence, train colleagues in spotting the signs and supporting their co-workers, and protect staff as a whole. The overall goal is not just supporting colleagues but also securing safety and well-being and mitigating financial loss. Leading businesses in London Bridge have done just that – taking the initiative to run a series of events aimed at their employees and also welcoming other professionals in the area whose employers might not have the infrastructure for this type of support. The businesses involved are EY, Norton Rose Fulbright and Gowling WLG, in association with Team London Bridge, the local business improvement district.
