Make Music Day Parade on the Low Line

Make Music Day 2018 at The Scoop

Make Music Day 2018 at The Scoop

Starting outside The Beormund Community Centre

177 Abbey St, SE1 2AN

Part of international free music festival Make Music Day UK, carnival band Kinetika Bloco will lead a parade along the Low Line, London’s emerging walking destination. The band will parade through the railway arches of London Bridge to Potters Fields Park and The Scoop. As Kinetika Bloco weave their way through the base of the viaduct with their upbeat mix of music influenced by the Caribbean, Brazil, West and South Africa, New Orleans jazz, funk and hip hop, audiences will find themselves immersed in the energy of their performance as the music fills unexpected, fascinating spaces on the route.

Along the way there will also be pop up music experiences in parks, bars and other places and spaces revealing the secret corners of the Low Line waiting to be explored. Kinetika Bloco’s musicians will be placed along the route so you can see them at Doodle Bar (Druid Street), St John’s Churchyard (Druid Street), Hop King (Druid Street), Underdog Bar and Gallery (Crucifix Lane), Vinegar Yard (St Thomas Street), London Bridge Station (Stainer Street),  Potters Fields Park and a final stop at The Scoop.

There will also be points along the parade where audiences can listen to live music too including the Singology Choir at London Bridge Station with their blend of gospel, pop and soul songs; London Youth Folk Ensemble in Potters Fields Park; Tongue and Groove Choir in St John’s Churchyard; and Zarif outside Hop King.

Make Music Day Parade 2019 is produced by Team London Bridge with support from Make Music Day, Southwark Council, Potters Fields Trust, Beormund Centre, Bermondsey Blue, Doodle Bar, Hop King, Potters Fields Park, Underdog Bar and Gallery, Vinegar Yard, Network Rail, Courage Yard, London Youth Folk Ensemble, Singology Choir, Tongue and Groove, Zarif and Kinetika Bloco.
