The council has prepared a draft social regeneration charter for St Thomas Street, in order to maximise the regeneration benefits available from new developments for local people. As a first step in the process of preparing a charter, a social research exercise has been carried out to develop a set of baseline indicators for the area and the following four key goals have been identified:
Goal 1: Create opportunities for young people
Goal 2: Bring communities together through shared amenities and affordable housing
Goal 3: Improve local employment opportunities
Goal 4: Provide opportunities for recreation and healthier lifestyles
