The Digital Divide and E-waste - Lunch & Learn with Community TechAid

  • Team London Bridge 8 Holyrood Street London, England, SE1 2EL United Kingdom (map)

As part of our efforts to take action against climate change and to address the social needs in our neighbouring areas, Team London Bridge partnered with Southwark based charity Community TechAid to bring you this free session which is open to anyone who lives, works or studies here in London Bridge.

Community TechAid's Lunch & Learn session will focus on what we mean by the digital divide and why the fight for digital inclusion and access for all is important. We will also look at what E-waste is and why it is important to talk about. We will share tips and tricks on how you can make a difference and how you can contribute to your community's circular economy in a positive way.

A run down of the Lunch & Learn:

· Introduction to Community TechAid’s work

· The Digital Divide - what we mean by this and why we are fighting to end it

· The true scale of e-waste and exactly how it impacts our environment and communities

· How ending the digital divide and reducing e-waste go hand-in-hand

· How individuals and organisations can reduce their e-waste and how Community TechAid can help beyond the Lunch & Learn

· Top tips to make your tech last longer

· The practical element

· Summary and questions (although people are welcome to ask questions throughout)

If you can’t make it for the full 2 hours, you can leave the session before the practical element starts.
