The past couple of years have seen a significant shift in how we interact with our work colleagues. We are using Zoom and Teams etc for one on one and group interactions which demand an ever increasing focus on computer screen, laptop or mobile devices. This hybrid working style means a great deal of time is spent sitting in front of these devices. If we are not aware of the pitfalls of a poor workstation set up we can fall prey to hidden tensions and stress. These may manifest in tiredness, sore eyes, irritability and other aches and pains.
The aim of this interactive workshop is to highlight why we may feel ill at ease and how to mitigate some of the negative effects of sitting for long periods in the same position.
During the workshop participants learn how to:
Improve awareness of seated posture;
Interact effectively with the workstation environment;
Move with more freedom and less effort;
Modify responses to stress.
There will be an opportunity to experience some guided ‘constructive rest’ which can be practised at any time. The ideas throughout are designed to foster curiosity and encourage active participation. There will be practical take aways, follow-up material and access to a guided audio file for future reference.
This online introductory workshop will last around forty minutes and there will be time for a short Q&A at the end.
