The Dark Side of Southwark Walk

  • Guy's Statue in Guy's Courtyard Guy's Campus, London Bridge London, England, SE1 1UL United Kingdom (map)

The walk aims to introduce people to the shadiest and darker side of Southwark by looking at the more nefarious happenings that took place around Old St Thomas’ Hospital from the 16th to the early 20th century. We shall highlight these darker stories around the themes of bodysnatching, murder, executions, alcohol, etc. The walk is aimed to be educational and even though the topics will be treated with the utmost respect, some of these stories might be triggering for some people. The past can be a very upsetting place to visit, but it can teach us many things. Join us as we guide you through the dark side of Southwark.
