London Bridge is an area chosen to push engineering boundaries. The past 50 years have seen a new incarnation of London Bridge, Guy’s Hospital rising up to become the tallest hospital tower in Europe, the building of an award-winning train station, and The Shard becoming a brand-new icon for the UK. Other transformational feats include Science Gallery London, Bridge Theatre, the More London estate, and the new Guy’s Cancer Centre.
The walk celebrates the constant evolution of an historic place, allowing us to contemplate how invention and purpose demand continual realignment of places to fit with contemporary needs.
Starts at 6pm; meeting point at the Scoop, More London; approx. 1.5 hours long
