Southwark Security & Resilience Forum plans for a new working environment
Southwark Security & Resilience Forum’s aim is to share intelligence, develop best practise and foster partnership-working around crime, resilience, public order and terrorism to benefit all of our members, no matter what sector or size.
The group comprises security managers from a number of prominent businesses / iconic sites across Bankside and London Bridge, Southwark Council and senior officers from The Met and British Transport Police.
In a commitment to maintain important local partnerships, our quarterly meeting went ahead last week, albeit virtually. We shared updates alongside Better Bankside, Southwark Council’s Emergency Planning & Resilience Team, The Met’s Chief Inspector for Neighbourhoods & Partnership, BTP’s Station Commander at London Bridge, our two funded BID officers and the Met’s counter terrorism unit.
As expected, much of the meeting focused on how the police and private sector are responding to new security issues as a result of Covid-19, however we also discussed early preparations to safely re-occupy premises and manage the consequential increase in employee and visitors numbers in the area.
This topic of re-occupation is currently a major focus for Team London Bridge as we work with our members, emergency services and other stakeholders to prepare the area for the gradual resumption of businesses with safety and security remaining the priority.
To help us with this, we would be grateful if you - our members - could share any information or plans you may have as and when they develop, so that we can support you wherever possible and adapt our services accordingly.
Also, if you would like help contacting other businesses in your building so you can assist each other with re-occupation planning please let us know as we can make an introduction for you.
