Team London Bridge announces new charity partners
We are delighted to appoint Bankside Open Spaces Trust and Disability Sports Coach as Team London Bridge’s new long-term charity partners as part of our Building Bridges Fund.
This partnership involves a total grant of £37,500 each, spread over the next three years to help the charities continue their great work in the borough. In addition to this, there will be an ongoing collaboration to ensure we raise awareness of their work throughout our business community in London Bridge. There will be an opportunity to meet them soon and get involved in various ways.
Bankside Open Spaces Trust: will focus on raising awareness of the fantastic range of facilities for sports, health and wellbeing available at Marlborough Sports Garden, whilst expanding on their offer of free programming for Southwark residents. Read more here.
Disability Sports Coach: will set up the borough’s first Southwark Inclusive Activity Network, bringing businesses together to raise awareness of disability and inclusive sport; whilst continuing to run the inclusive community club for Southwark residents. Read more here.
This wouldn’t be possible without the hard work and dedication of our Task Group made up of representatives from London Bridge businesses. They volunteer their time and expertise to help us screen every application and then follow up with meetings or visits with the successful grantees. A particular thank you goes to the group’s interim Chair, Clare McBride at PwC, who has done a stellar job guiding us through the lengthy and complex process which started back in January.
Our grants programme has been running since the BID’s inception, in total investing just over £700,000 in a variety of projects but more importantly creating much needed local connections with the business community. We continue to innovate the way we give and place a great emphasis on what makes us unique as a funding business improvement district.
