Queen Elizabeth Gardens: A Bee-autiful Transformation Unveiled!

In Spring, we joined forces with environmental charity BOST and 21 volunteers from local businesses to rejuvenate Queen Elizabeth Gardens, a beloved green corner of London Bridge located in front of Restaurant Story at the top of Tooley Street.

The transformation is now complete, with the site cleared by idverde and a new planting scheme from our go-to award-winning landscape designer Darryl Moore from Cityscapes, full of perennials, biodiversity and goodness. The new beds have proven to be a treat for the local insect and bird populations - with a swarm of bees taking a special interest!

“For the last 11 years, Restaurant Story has loved being a part of the London Bridge community. It has been incredible to see the neighbourhood and all its adjoining streets and public spaces evolve and change over time. It has been an absolute delight to witness the variously planted shrubs, hedgerows and grasses bring the gardens at the front of the restaurant back to life. The newly enlivened space really has brought people and plants together!” - Darren, Restaurant Story

As always, we have taken a sustainable approach to the project, with some of the plants retained, others re-used or composted, and some of our volunteers have taken cuttings to grow at home.
