It’s coming home! Team London Bridge scoops ‘Best Contribution to Climate Action’ accolade at the ATCM Awards

Members of our Net Zero Steering Group and Charter Signatories

On a proud evening for all involved, the London Bridge Decarbonisation Charter was judged an exemplar initiative for the UK and Ireland.

The annual Town and City Management Industry (TCMI) Awards held by the Association of Town and City Management (ATCM) identify the best of the best across the urban place management industry in the UK and Ireland.

The ATCM’s industry gathering in Glasgow on 19 June had the theme of Innovation in Town and City Climate Action and, fittingly, our London Bridge Decarbonisation Charter won Best Contribution to Climate Action.

This is a new category, showing how the London Bridge business community is setting the pace towards net zero

The Award identifies the member with the most progressive work on a range of issues including net zero, climate resilience, stakeholder engagement, and biodiversity. This accolade recognises the excellent work of our colleagues Jack Skillen and Tom Fraser-Ivens, our Net Zero Steering Group, the Charter signatories, and our Board for supporting this area of work with such commitment.

Sign the award-winning Decarbonisation Charter today!

Be part of our nationally recognised initiative! The London Bridge Decarbonisation Charter now has 41 signatories from the area and your organisation can get involved by signing the Charter today.

Everyone can join in. It’s a collaboration between landlords, tenants and local businesses in the BID area and is critical to accelerate a transition to net zero. The more businesses commit to reducing their carbon emissions, the faster the area can reach its net zero target.

Business Green Awards nomination

The London Bridge Net Zero Routemap was also shortlisted at the prestigious Business Green Awards, in the category of Net Zero Strategy of the Year.

While we did not win this time, we had a table of partners from our business community that have been pushing this agenda with us, and it was an opportunity to embed the relationships and momentum that will ensure we keep driving this shared initiative.

And London Bridge businesses did win big, with Mitie winning Company of the Year and Greengage being highly commended in the Consultancy of the Year category – congratulations all round.
