Boots and Superdrug stores in London Bridge have committed to improve the safety of our local community by signing up to the government’s recently launched ‘Ask for Ani’ initiative. The codeword scheme (Ani stands for ‘Action Needed Immediately), enables victims of domestic abuse to access immediate help from the police, or other support services, from the safety of their local pharmacy by approaching a member of staff and ‘asking for Ani’.

These staff have been given training on how to respond to requests for ‘Ani’ – they will listen non-judgmentally and provide both immediate refuge in a private space away from the shop floor and a means of contacting either the police, a national helpline or other local support service, whatever the individual chooses.

Boots and Superdrug stores can be found at:

· Boots, Unit 142, London Bridge Station, SE1 9SP

· Boots, Units 8-11, Hay’s Galleria, SE1 2HD

· Superdrug, The Shard Arcade, SE1 9SG

We also have a dedicated page on our website with resources, links and webinars for those seeking domestic abuse or stalking/harassment support.
