Low Line Louie opens on Holyrood Street
Low Line Louie has opened in London Bridge, becoming part of the ever-growing community of businesses who have found their home along the mighty Victorian railway viaducts spanning Bankside, London Bridge and Bermondsey.
The Louie Louie family prides itself on its signature cocktails, tasty bites and speciality coffee in a relaxed setting, and their latest addition is no exception. Tucked away on Holyrood Street, the cafe/bar hybrid is the perfect spot for a leisurely al-fresco lunch, quick caffeine stop or post-work drinks.
Team London Bridge are proud to have played a part in the venture, match funding the brand new kiosk with Southwark Council and the Mayor for London’s Good Growth Fund. The beautiful timber structure is designed by Sanchez Benton Architects and its landscaped roof designed by Holyrood Street’s own Macfarlane Associates.
We catch up with owner Chris Greenwood (pictured above with wife/business partner Lena Greenwood) about what to expect.
What is Low Line Louie all about?
Hi-fi coffee, cocktails & cakes. And toasties…
Why did you choose London Bridge for your new adventure?
After the pandemic we needed to expand to survive. We were approached by the Southwark Regeneration Project and found London Bridge to be a natural fit for us. It’s exciting to be part of the growth of the Low Line community!
Tell us about your coffee and cocktails...
We work with Redemption Roasters who roast coffee in prisons teaching young offenders barista skills. Our cocktails are “2 for 1” Wed - Sat, 5 to 6pm
Where does your name come from?
Our mothership is called Louie Louie and the Low Line is where we be!
What do you recommend from the menu?
It has to be the Prosciutto, manchego cheese, house sweet chilli jam sourdough toastie.
Is there anything else you'd like to tell us?
After 5 years down the Walworth road, 6 months at Elephant & Castle, we are delighted to now spread our wings in London Bridge
