The London Bridge Decarbonisation Charter
The London Bridge Decarbonisation Charter is a framework for Team London Bridge (TLB) members and area stakeholders to commit to making London Bridge one of the most sustainable places to do business in the world.
Download a readable copy of the Charter here. It has been written to be applicable to businesses of all sizes and sectors.
Read our FAQs document or contact us with any questions.

About
Collaboration between landlords, tenants and service providers in the BID area is critical to accelerate a transition to net zero. The more businesses commit to reducing their carbon emissions, the faster the area can reach its net zero target.
The Charter encourages businesses to make a collective commitment with TLB towards being a net zero business district, as well as an individual commitment towards your own decarbonisation journey.
The Charter is not a legal framework, but a commitment to improve and work together (see FAQs section). It encourages those taking part to monitor their emissions, review their efforts, and share best practice. TLB will measure the area footprint every few years. Through our collective efforts we have already seen emissions reduce by 5% from 2019 to 2023.
The Charter was launched in February 2024 with 35 founding signatories and a total of 45 businesses had signed by the end of the first year. We hope to grow this number with you in 2025, reviewing past actions and making new commitments.
SEE LIST OF PARTICIPATING BUSINESSES BELOW.
In summer 2024, we were awarded Climate Project of the Year at the Association of Town and City Management (ATCM) Awards.
How to Participate
Any business/organisation working in London Bridge can take part. It doesn’t matter what stage of your sustainability journey you are at, whether your business is based here, you are a landlord, managing agent or service partner.
Signature requires a contact person and an authority signature from the organisation (this can be the same person). Participation lasts for the year and is renewed near the end of the calendar year.
Organisations that sign up can request to be visible on our webpage, and will receive an e-badge to use on your own website or other materials.
TLB will provide tools, services and training to support organisations to deliver on the aims of the Charter.

What commitments are businesses making in London Bridge?
What commitments are businesses making in London Bridge?
Businesses are invited to indicate how advanced they are in making a science-based target and timescales they are working towards. From that we can categorise them as:
- Net Zero Trailblazer = by 2030 in accordance with the Southwark Council and London Bridge BID target.
- Net Zero Champion = by 2050 in accordance with the UK Government target
- Net Zero Pathfinder = working towards setting a net zero target through application
- Net Zero Collective Commitment = Not quite ready for a full commitment, but committed to working collectively to make progress.
In year one, 45 businesses made the following commitments:
With well over half of signatories on a clear route to net zero, we can state that we are making good progress. This has helped us reduce carbon emissions in London Bridge by 5% from 2019 to 2023.
What does this show about London Bridge?
The more businesses signing up and reviewing their progress will clearly illustrate how far we are progressing as a business district and how we are taking global leadership at a local level.
There is much more to do, and we look forward to working with the business community to be ever more efficient, innovative and sustainable.

The Charter is a key component of our London Bridge Net Zero Routemap and is overseen by a Steering Group of representative BID member businesses.
