Our London Bridge is cleaner and greener

Team London Bridge provides an enhanced street scene through a managed programme of cleaning, public realm and sustainable transport initiatives. First, we make sure this busy area is kept clean. We provide greening across the area, whether smaller beds or large scale award-winning projects. And we put walking and cycling first. Combined, this makes London Bridge a distinctive, healthy street environment for locals and visitors alike.

Placeshaping

Our Placeshaping priorities were established through consultation with local businesses and set out in the London Bridge Plan. They have been backed up with subsequent strategies on Green Infrastructure, Cycling, Net Zero, Heritage and public realm strategies. We want to provide a better and more attractive network of spaces for people to use. We deliver our own work, and work alongside other London Bridge stakeholders so that the area goes from strength to strength. Read more about these strategies.

Greening & Biodiversity

From pocket parks to living walls, we have an acre of green spaces across about 14 sites, all created with the health and wellbeing of the London Bridge community in mind. We are focused on biodiverse, climate tolerant planting and sustainable drainage. Team London Bridge has been awarded Gold Standard and BID Category winners for the second year running at the London in Bloom Awards. Scroll down to check out some of our projects.

Street Cleaning

We provide an additional 2000 hours of street cleaning per year, working with Southwark Council. This provides extra response to local issues like graffiti removal, washing down of street furniture and removal of fly-tipping. We can also organise specialist cleaning services when required. Cycling

London Bridge is a famous transport interchange, and we’ve been working hard to make walking and cycling just as good as the trains, tubes, buses and boats. We have a number of cycling initiatives, including free monthly DrBike check-ups for employees, bike marking, guided bike rides, secure cycle parking discounts, and access to our cargo bike services directory. Waste and Circular Economy

In London Bridge we are working “Towards Zero Waste” through work with a number of partners. That means not just recycling, but reducing and re-using, including doing more with the circular economy. Low Line

The Low Line is a walking destination for London along the length of the mighty Victorian railway viaducts spanning Bankside, London Bridge and Bermondsey. It connects diverse neighbourhoods and communities in south London, creating hubs of creativity, entertainment, and industry along its course. Team London Bridge is a founding partner and we have supported several interventions, walks and talks.
