Supporting social equity through theatre for 50 years.
London Bubble delivers participatory theatre activities for children, young people and older adults. We reduce barriers to taking part in arts and culture by providing free, sociable, accessible activities – meeting people where they are in schools, youth settings and sheltered housing as well as at our community hub in Rotherhithe. We provide a gateway to the wealth of cultural activities in Southwark and employment in the arts industry that many of our members would consider as ‘not for them’.
Our values of community, care and creativity are at the centre of all our projects. Our professional artists are highly skilled in working alongside people experiencing injustice and disadvantage to create powerful, topical, entertaining performances about the issues and stories that matter most to them. Rather than having a theatre venue, our members’ work is shared with the audiences and in the spaces most appropriate for them.
We also transfer these techniques into statutory services and business settings to explore equity and diversity issues in a creative, safe environment.
How you can help
NEW - we urgently need in-kind or financial donations to make this happen on 17th August!
We're partnering with Southwark Park Gallery and our neighbours at Time & Talents to produce an exhibition of work created by members of The Rotherhithe Shed.
The Rotherhithe Shed is the other strand of our older adults' programme, and the exhibition promises to be a wonderful celebration of Shed members creativity over the 10 years the Shed has been open.
We want to do the exhibition, and our members, justice by creating a digital and printed catalogue including recordings of members telling us about their pieces. We also want to celebrate our members with an opening and closing celebration for them.
We're seeking donations to enable us to do this, either financial or in-kind, please see more information here; deadline 31st July.

A monthly Bubble Pledge supports four core areas of our work: supporting school children identified with a speech and language need, nurturing young performers and theatre makers, working with isolated elders and reaching out to new audiences and communities.

Commission us to work with your team
We provide bespoke Equality, Diversity and Inclusion themed workshops to support your ESG strategy.
London Bubble Theatre are experts in using theatre-based techniques to provide a creative platform for exploring potentially difficult themes including social and cultural issues and protected characteristics. Commission us to work with your business to identify an area pertinent to your workforce and strategy. We offer a personalised, collaborative experience ensuring that your needs are met.
Our artists lead consultation workshops with employees to learn about their experiences in the workplace. Using the material gathered and case studies from real-life situations, we create a bespoke play. This is performed for a wider group of employees as part of an interactive workshop during which we facilitate discussion about the topics raised.
Sessions are practical, engaging and creative and do not require previous theatre experience. Any profit goes directly towards our charitable costs, delivering free drama projects for vulnerable children, young people and older adults. Through upskilling your workforce, you are also giving back to the local community.
