Team London Bridge appoint new Community Safety and Security Partnership Director

Our vision is “to make London Bridge one of the most sustainable, culturally innovative and compelling places for business and tourism in the world”, and at the core of this is our unwavering commitment to enhancing safety and security in the London Bridge area.

Given the unique challenges posed by our central London location, with its numerous iconic sites and high foot traffic, coupled with rising acquisitive crime across the UK and the underlying threat of terrorist activity, we have created a new position of Community Safety and Safety Partnership Director to respond to the needs of our business community.

This is a hugely important role for the area and our team, so we are delighted that Nick Morant will be joining Team London Bridge in January. Those familiar with our Security and Safety services will know that Nick has been our BID funded Met Police Officer in London Bridge since 2016. Together with his partner in fighting crime, PC Lee Noble of the British Transport Police, Nick has been on the front line in London Bridge for the past seven years, advising businesses and keeping members of the public safe.

Many of our businesses will know Nick already from the numerous personal safety training sessions and events he has helped deliver, such as PubwatchSE1. He will be working with our BID members, estate managers, Police and local authorities to keep businesses prepared and resilient to crime, leading on safety initiatives, establishing strategic partnerships, and serving as a prominent ambassador for the area and our businesses.

Nick leaves the Metropolitan Police after many years of loyal service and brings with him a wealth of knowledge that will serve our BID community well as he spearheads our response to the security challenges ahead.

Team London Bridge Chief Executive Nadia Broccardo said, ‘We are delighted that London Bridge businesses will benefit from such a high calibre appointment as we counter crime and safety concerns together. We’ve known Nick for many years, his expertise and insights will help our community assert a proactive stance on the constantly evolving security issues that have the potential to disrupt our enjoyment of this fabulous neighbourhood’.

We will be working with the Met in the new year to find a new BID funded Police Officer for the area. PC Noble will continue to lead our highly valued additional patrols and special operations within London Bridge tube and national rail stations, maintaining the excellent standard of policing he and his colleagues provide for us.
