London Bridge wins Gold at London in Bloom 2023!

The London Bridge community loves its green spaces so we were thrilled to be judged as a GOLD standard area and category winner at the London in Bloom Awards 2023.

The best of the capital’s neighbourhood horticulturalists gathered in their hundreds at the Arts Pavilion in Mile End in recognition of the many people and projects that work so hard to make London such a green city.

Team London Bridge collected the trophy for ‘Best Business Improvement District’ on behalf of all our local partners who work alongside us and own, manage, design and nurture the green spaces in the area. Having been visited by the In Bloom judge in July, London Bridge was awarded Gold, which means we scored over 85% and our collective work is ‘Outstanding’ in the expert eyes of London in Bloom.

From pocket parks and SuDs rain gardens to wildflower meadows and living walls, our treasured green spaces are all created with the health and wellbeing of the London Bridge community in mind; contributing towards a greener, more carbon-conscious future for the area. We work with many brilliant individuals and organisations, including St Mungo's Putting Down Roots, Darryl Moore, Cityscapes, Potters Fields Park Management Trust, Southwark Council, Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, King's College London, London Bridge City and Oriana Catino.

There was a particular focus this year on community partnerships and sustainability, so we are especially pleased to have scored so highly. It was also noted how well managed and beautifully clean our public spaces are.

Thank you again to everyone who contributed to the judging day, but more importantly to all who work tirelessly with us throughout the year to keep these stunning spaces to such a high standard.
