Helping the homeless, close to the Shard!

Manna+Hand.jpg

We are pleased to share this upcoming volunteering opportunity at The Manna Society (2 minute walk from the Shard), set up by Sapphire Systems, members of our London Bridge business community.

You will be helping out in the kitchen, serving meals, pouring teas/coffees and giving out towels to clients. The Manna relies on volunteers to operate and will not be able to open without support.

The initially booking days are w/c 11 October and 18 October. The time slots are as follows:

  • 08:30-13:30 (5 hours)

  • 08:30-11:00 (2.5 hours)

  • 11:30-13:30 (2 hours)

The Manna Society is a Day Centre for homeless people in London Bridge, whom we have supported for several years. They offer respect and loving care to those who come. On average, they cater for around 120-150 people per day – mostly men. About 46% of these sleep rough, 29% are in socially rented accommodation and the other 25% are in hostels or staying with friends.

Feel free to share this across your networks
